OUR STORY
Since 1985
Starting in the industry in 1985, after a period in engineering and draughting, Miles worked through positions from site installations, internal sales, overseeing factory production, external sales, and purchasing. He also dealt with designing anchor systems for many applications in multiple industries reaching a director of the anchor division in the group.
Starting a Southern African stud welding agency for Taylor stud welding equipment from the UK with many other imported products for the refractory industry and stainless-steel raw materials for anchor manufacturing, including the importing of Hex mesh and armour products.
In 2017, an opportunity presented itself to explore a start-up anchor manufacturing in Indonesia, this proved in itself too difficult with government regulations for a foreign entity, a good experience nonetheless.
In 2019, Miles left the Dickinson Group and moved to Sydney Australia to the Antec Group, a factory manufacturing refractory anchors and hex mesh, this was an excellent 2-year experience working with a great company in a foreign country. Unfortunately, Covid -19 changed the world as we knew it and Miles returned to be with his family in 2022. Miles still has links with the company on a consulting basis.

Starting Shevon Engineering in Johannesburg has been a great opportunity to reconnect with old and new clients offering his experience and knowledge, knowing what the client wants, and satisfying the requirement.
Refractory anchoring is now purchased from various manufacturers globally, offering design, material choice, anchor placement, and installation methods, on-site visits, and stud welding set-up and training.
